Data Collection and Usage
8.1 Web Data Collection
At Dev List, we collect and summarize publicly available job information using a combination of manual effort and software tools to bring our users the most relevant and high-quality listings. We transform this data by curating lists of jobs according to user relevance, summarizing job titles, extracting relevant skills, and compiling listings from original job sources. Almost no information is directly copied and pasted from the original job postings.
8.2 Respectful and Responsible Practices
If we use software, we prioritize, with an abundance of caution, responsible data collection and adhere to courteous and polite rate limits to avoid burdening any source. Additionally, our manual efforts focus on gathering standout listings that we believe offer unique value to our users.
8.3 Attribution to Original Sources
All jobs listed on Dev List are clearly attributed to their original sources, and we do not claim ownership of this information.
Our goal is not to be a data-scraping service. Our purpose is to serve as a guide to help freelancers find high quality job listings relevant to their skillset. In doing so we hope to eliminate the frustration many feel from spending hours searching through spam, duplicate listings, fake listings, or irrelevant ones.
